The people behind the Curiomatic YouTube channel have created a pretty cool tribute to the Japanese-exclusive Earthbound game Mother 3, reimagining the world with cute claymation graphics.

The Earthbound franchise is an oddball set of RPGs that has been around for over 25 years. The fanbase is dedicated, to say the least; last year, fans explored its source code to discover cut content.

As beloved as this franchise might be, one game has eluded Western audiences -- at least in terms of an official release. The third Earthbound game Mother 3 has never been officially released in the West, although a number of fan translations have existed on the Internet for years. Now, one innovative group of YouTubers has revealed a tribute to this unreleased RPG -- and shown us what a modern remake could look like.

The Mother 3 Fan Tribute by Curiomatic Puts a New Spin on a Classic RPG

As highlighted on Reddit, YouTube channel Curiomatic has celebrated its 7th anniversary by releasing a beautiful Mother 3 tribute. This video is the culmination of over 2 years of work.

The video is stylized as a trailer for Mother 3, showing a mix of cinematic scenes and combat. While the original game was done in pixel graphics, this fan-made trailer reimagines the art style using claymation. It's a visually stunning take on a beloved game and is well worth watching.

You can watch Curiomatic's Mother 3 tribute on YouTube. As for the game itself, all we can do is hope that Nintendo will eventually come to its senses and release an official port to the West someday.

What do you think of the fan tribute to Mother 3? Do you think Nintendo will ever release or remake this game for Western audiences? Let us know in the comments below!
