Today Artisan Studios announced a new upcoming action RPG titled Lost Hellden.
The game will release for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in 2025, and it's created in collaboration with artist Takeshi Oga and composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. The PC version will come to Steam, Epic Games, and GOG.com.
Hitoshi Sakimoto is a very well-known composer in the Japanese gaming industry. He worked at Square Enix on titles like Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactic, and Final Fantasy XII, before leaving the company and founding the music and sound production studio Basiscape in 2002.
Takeshi Oga is known for his work on Sony's Gravity Rush and Siren series, on top of Tokyo RPG Factory's Oninaki. He's working on Lost Hellden's background concept art, background illustrations, and more.
The game is set in the world of Era, where everyone is forced to bond at birth with one of the Seven Deadly Sins. They must live continuously resisting the temptation of their ancestral sin or succumb, becoming monsters, which is a fate worse than death.
The game tells the story of the twins Cyphel and Leht, whose Nexu Ritual goes terribly wrong. While Cyphel is bound to no sin, Leht gets them all. Of course, this makes Cyphel's life a lot easier than that of his brother.
One day, Leht runs away and Cyphel is sent in pursuit accompanied by Gram and Enki, representatives of the Unio religion, responsible for making sure that everyone follows its rules.
The game owes its visual style to Artisan’s in-house "Deep 2D" technology, and you can check out what it looks like in the trailer below.
