Today, Ubisoft announced the first worldwide tour dates of the Assassin's Creed Symphony, which will premiere at next year's E3 in Los Angeles. As a two-hour show, fans of the series will be able to listen to songs from composers such as Jesper Kyd, Lorne Balfe, Brian Tyler, Austin Wintory, Sarah Schachner, Winifred Phillips, Elitsa Alexandrova, Chris Tilton, Ryan Amon, and The Flight.

“We are honored to partner with Ubisoft on this innovative multimedia project. We are approaching this production with passion and a sense of mission,” said Massimo Gallotta, CEO of MGP Live. “Our aim is to create concerts for all generations and let the power of music, which speaks every language, talk to the heart of gamers. We immediately felt Assassin's Creed had the potential for a unique symphonic experience because of the diverse cultural influences in its iconic soundtrack. We love that this concert is opening up symphonic music to a new generation of fans.”
Pre-sale tickets will be available December 7 for Ubisoft Club Members and will be available to the public on December 10. For the hopefully curious, there are six total dates, with the initial June 11 E3 appearance in Los Angeles, a June 29 concert in Paris, an August 3 concert in San Francisco, a September 27 appearance in Montreal, and two concerts on October 5 and 6 in London and Milan respectively.

Quick Take:

While I have always seen the Assassin's Creed series as a dull snoozefest, their music is fantastic. If they came to Toronto or somewhere in Southern Ontario I would probably buy tickets to go to one of these concerts. Video Game Music has a genre has been somewhat of a slow-burner for many years, but in the last 3-4 years, it has really started to take off. Blizzard, Square Enix, and CD Projekt Red feel free to come to Toronto anytime and host a concert. I'll be there.
