What beloved family is creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky, and altogether ooky? Why, The Addams Family of course. With a new animated feature releasing later this year, it seems fair that there will be a tie-in game. Sure enough, The Addams Family Mystery Mansion is providing said tie-in game.

Set to release on mobile phones later this year, The Addams Family Mystery Mansion sees you helping the titular family move into their new house. The game packs in an original story that sees Morticia and Gomez discover that their family is missing. You'll be helping reunite the family and rebuild the mansion, along with collecting other characters that will be in the new featured film. Along the way you'll fill it with objects, decorate it how you like, and probably snap along to that theme song once or twice.

The Addams Family Mystery Mansion is being developed by Pixowl, perhaps best known for The Sandbox. They've also developed mobile ties for franchises like Goosebumps and Wonder Park. While there isn't much gameplay to see yet, initial glimpses don't look too different from what you'd see in The Simpsons: Tapped Out, and looks like you'll be assigning characters tasks that will take time and, when completed, award you with money and experience so you can unlock more items and characters so you can perform more tasks. There's also apparently going to be a simple crafting system to make more items to decorate your mansion with.

If you're interested, you can preregister for the game here. The game will be launching on October 9th for iOS and Android devices. It will be free, but have in-app purchases.
