Rift Wizard is a tough retro fantasy roguelike that emphasizes combat and character building. Players play as a immortal amnesiac wizard who is recreating his spellbook while also trying to kill his rival. There's 25 randomly generated levels, and each level is filled with procedurally generated challenges that will test the player. Rift Wizard is inspired by titles such as Nethack, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Brogue, and Tales of Maj'Eyal, but tries to move the genre in its own strategic, combat focused direction. It's creator, Dylan White, has said likened Rift Wizard to be more similar to a board game than a video game.
Rift Wizard is available on Steam.
