Elderborn is an old-school first-person melee brawler inspired by the exploration gameplay of Dark Souls, the style of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and the aesthetic of 2016's DOOM reboot. It mashes up retro gameplay sensibilities with modern design principles to create a game that straddles the divide between old and new.
Story-wise, Elderborn takes inspiration from Robert E. Howard's Conan saga, as well as He-Man and heavy metal album art from the 1970s and 1980s. You are a lone barbarian champion who must battle through hordes of skeletons, magicians, and other monsters in order to discover the secrets of an ancient city.
