En Masse Entertainment is celebrating the 5th anniversary of their Action MMORPG Tera with in-game events and content updates. The game launched on May 1, 2012, and has since grown to have over 25 million registered players worldwide. The entire month of May will be filled with celebratory fun on PC as the game prepares for its launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
“It’s been an incredible five years for TERA and we didn’t want to celebrate this achievement with just one day. We decided to celebrate with our community throughout the entire month,” said En Masse Entertainment CEO Sam Kim. “We’re looking forward to many more milestones with our loyal community, including welcoming new console players later this year. As far as we’re concerned, we’re still just getting warmed up, with much more to come!”Login during May to get a free pair of Fifth Anniversary Wings which will no longer be available once the month-long festivities end. An Anniversary Token Shop will be added to the game just for the occasion offering a rotating selection of special content that can be purchased with Anniversary Tokens. These tokens can be earned throughout the month by participating in PvP battlegrounds and PvE dungeons giving players a chance to win cosmetic items through drops that are usually only available in the online store.
Outside of combat players can participate in a challenge of knowledge during the anniversary month. Tera community manager Sean “Spacecats” Gibbons will host in-game quiz events on all servers giving dedicated players a chance to win rewards. Having a vast knowledge of Tera trivia could earn you Anniversary Tokens and other in-game prizes.
Perhaps the most exciting content coming during May is an update to “Velik’s Fate”. Launching on May 9th, the update will add two new high-level dungeons called Velik’s Hold and Velik’s Sanctuary where players will meet the formidable boss, god Lakan. Loot from these dungeons will include brand new armor and weapon sets.
