PQI, creators of portable storage space such as Flash Drives, SSDs, HDDs, and more, have announced a new product for Apple’s smart devices. Just in time for people who are ready to upgrade their iPhones or grab the new iPad Pro, the iConnect will bring even more storage space to individuals who need it.

Claiming the iConnect to be the ultimate storage solution, PQI states that users of the iPhone are making it the default photo and video capturing device, even replacing dedicated cameras and video recorders:

Increasingly people are using iPhones for photo and video capture, even outright replacing traditional cameras and video cameras. Everyone wants to keep those memories but the storage space on the iPhone seems to never be enough.

The iConnect will be an Apple certified Lighting flash drive that will plug in through the lightening port on all compatible iDevices, having a read/write speed of 30MB/15MB per second allowing owners to transfer photos, videos, music, and even contacts. Not only will this be ideal for mega digital hoarders to make space for more apps without fear of deleting important memories, this will also allow those who decide to take advantage of the new iPhone upgrade option to backup their old phone in preparation.

Another use PQI claims the iConnect will have is the ability to access stored media while plugged into an iPhone and iPad:

The iConnect can provide you with entertainment even when you’re offline! So the next time you’re going on a long-haul flight, you can upload all your favourite music and videos and play them on your iPhone, iPad directly using the iConnect.

The announcement for a device that adds more storage has been a long time coming, as Android has allowed their cellphones and tablets to use SD cards in order to add more space. The iConnect will come in four different sizes and price ranges:  $59.99 for 16GB, $71.99 for 32GB, $107.99 for 64GB and $179.99 for 128GB and will come in three different colors. It is set to release sometime in September.
