The final showing for Nintendo’s event was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The segment started with several members of Nintendo’s staff joking about not being able to reveal a launch date before cutting to a trailer of the game.

The trailer starts off showing off the game world, flying around the environments and showing the Master Sword in the middle of the woods before cutting to Link looking over the land scape. Following this he runs around the environments, climbing up a wall and riding his horse.

Chaos soon breaks out, as monsters emerge from the darkness. Link clashes with varous creatures, some of them far larger than he is and many of them looking to be made out of a shadowy substance. Some of the creatures also looked robotic in nature, and many new and old species were shown off. Shark people? It’s in the game. The trailer was noticeably dramatic, containing swelling music and dramatic voice overs from various characters.

At the end of the trailer it revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be a Nintendo Switch launch title and shall be coming out on March 3rd, 2017.

After the showing Nintendo revealed that there will also be some amiibos to go with Breath of the Wild. Five will be launched themed after the game: two of them are Link in different poses, one for Zelda, one is a bokoblin, and one for the mechanical guardians. As of right now it’s unknown exactly what these Amiibos will do for the game, but I’m sure we’ll learn before long.

Nintendo has also announced they will be releasing special and master editions of the game. The special edition will come with the game, a map, the soundtrack, a special coin, and a carrying case for your Nintendo Switch, and will retail for $99.99. The master edition will come with all of that, plus a statue of Breath of the Wild‘s Master Sword, and will retail for $129.99.
