After the rumors of there being a first person view in the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions GTA V, Rockstar have released a trailer showing off the new feature.

Speaking with IGN, Animation Director on GTA V, Rob Nelson said,

Obviously, we felt like one of the most compelling things you could do to make an experience people have had before feel different was the new first-person mode.

I don’t think we could’ve put it in the [last-gen version] because we were too busy making the game. We were too busy working on our third-person controls and the missions.

In the trailer released we see a good variety of the new perspective being used, from shooting to inside vehicles. The new mode does seem a strange one since it didn’t appear many people were crying out for it and it has never been a staple of the series.

Undoubtedly though it will be a new way to experience the game and could be interesting for people who already played though it last year.

Not interested. But If people like that feature, whatever. Just don’t remove 3rd person option.

  • JackDandy

That is kind of fucking amazing

That actually turned out and looked better than I expected it to. I just hope when it comes to PC in January you can adjust that FOV, it looks cramped.

I’m glad I waited for the PC version. The more I see of the new features of GTA V, the more the wait seems worth it

  • Fenrir007

Really interested on using this to pilot vehicles, especially cars. I wonder if we could use a driving wheel just to fool around while using it.

  • BeholdMyPower

    That literal male gaze.

  • Noctah

Same here. I’m worried it won’t be in the base game.

Though, if all goes well and we get mod support, adjusting the FOV by ourselves will be available.
Let’s all agree to wait for port reports before buying it, alright ?

  • blOOz

January will be worth the wait, especially since the PC version is confirmed to be it’s own version, and not a port.

Just found out last night that FOV is confirmed to be customizable for the PS4 version, so the PC version is likely to have FOV settings, along with other first person view features.

Rockstar’s also been taking full advantage of each platform’s features. Example; the Dualshock 4 controller’s light flashes red and blue during police chases and police reports will come through the controller speakers. Not much said about Xbone features, but I think it’s safe to say that the PC version (being released on Steam) will get some degree of Workshop Support.

I’ll be upgrading my 560ti to a 970 for this game.
