Several gamers have reported that there is a significant bug in the latest patch for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! which has been released today in conjunction with new DLC the Lady Hammerlock pack. Those who have played Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! will have noticed that the game contained significant glitches including enemies walking through or getting trapped in walls, as well as some game-breaking bugs which meant the player could no longer continue with the story.

This latest bug hits PC gamers the hardest, and crashes the game every time the player puts 3 purple weapons into Janey Spring's Grinder. This is the only way to produce a legendary level weapon (the best tier of weapon) without previously owning one. However, while many see this as unacceptable from a AAA developer such as Gearbox, gamers do not have to use this function and so preventing setting off the bug is easy until the point where a patch fixing this problem in released.

The patch is required for players who wish to use the online functionality or download the latest DLC pack. However, it can be easily avoided by console gamers who don't wish to access these functions and can even be avoided by PC gamers who play the game in Steam's offline mode. Unfortunately, this kind of glitched and bugged out gameplay appears to be becoming the norm for AAA developers. The most notable of these recently would be Assassin's Creed Unity which went viral with its number of hilarious bugs including some which removed NPCs faces with terrifying consequences.

Gearbox states that it is aware of and working on fixing the problems, and will hopefully have the game working again soon.

What do you think? Is this behaviour unacceptable from AAA developers?
