Recently, Kalypso Media Digital announced that they would be remastered strategy classics Praetorians and Commandos 2 for a Q4 2019 release on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, with Commandos 2 also releasing on Mac, Linux, iPad and Android tablets, and the Nintendo Switch.
Developed by Yippee Entertainment and Torus Games respectively, both of the remastered titles with release with updated graphics and enhanced control schemes best suited for modern gamers.
In Commandos 2, players will take control of a highly trained and motivated group of commandos who are tasked with going into enemy territory and finish tough missions with their combined expertise.
Commandos 2 will feature a reworked tutorial, 10 missions in 9 different environments that span day and night, and WWII vehicles and weapons such as jeeps, trucks, ships, bazookas, flamethrowers, and tanks. The player will be able to utilize nine different commandos, including a thief, sniper, demolitions expert, diver, seductress, and a green beret.
In Praetorians, players will take their place in the surging Roman Empire by fighting in Egypt, Gaul, and Italy in their crusade to become Emperor. Players will need to combine their units, utilize different skillsets, and exploit the enemy in order to emerge victorious. However, the closer the player gets to their goal, the closer they come to facing the titular Praetorian Guard.
Praetorians features over 20 campaign missions, different terrains and landscapes, reworked controls and UI, and different abilities and formations. The game will have online multiplayer as well, just in case you want to see how good of an Emperor you really are.
