Today along with a variety of other announcements, Nintendo of America has announced the release date for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker in North America – as well as the price that the game will launch at.
Originally revealed and announced for release this year at E3, Captain Toad has been a curious title on Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U releases – next to the very violent and blockbuster gameplay present in Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Toad’s new outing is instead a much more relaxed and seemingly low-budget puzzle game – based off of the levels present in last year’s Super Mario 3D World. Perhaps most interesting about the title was the thought that it would see a full retail release; and as such the price that the game would actually go for has been a thought that many individuals have wondered of these past few months.
Captain Toad will release December 5th for the price of $39.99, seeing both a retail and a digital release. Beyond the gameplay that Nintendo showed off at E3, little is known about the title – though it’s likely that Nintendo plans to release more information before it hits store shelves. Perhaps Nintendo will delegate an entire Nintendo Direct for the title, much like the recent Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2 Directs?
Regardless, we will keep you updated as any such information comes in!
