It’s Veterans Day and Activision has been busy with efforts to help support veterans. The Call of Duty Endowment is a charity dedicated to helping veterans find high quality employment after their military service is completed. Activision is pairing with  Costco, GameStop, Best Buy, and Carl’s Jr. throughout Veterans Day and the upcoming holiday season to do what they can about veteran unemployment.

The Call of Duty Endowment was established by Activision Blizzard to help veterans find meaningful employment when returning to civilian life. 100% of the funds raised through the Endowment go directly to funding organizations that do this good work. So far over 17,000 veterans have gained employment thanks to the Call of Duty Endowment.

Costco and Gamestop are supporting the Call of Duty Endowment congruent with the sale of newly released Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Costco is selling limited edition dog tags packaged with the new game. GameStop is offering an exclusive limited edition Call of Duty: Black Ops III challenge coin sold separately from the game. Proceeds from both the dog tags and challenge coins is going directly to the Call of Duty Endowment.

Best Buy has just finished up their “The Race to Prestige” gaming marathon featuring streamers TmarTn, GoldGloveTV, Jeriicho, Hutch, and VernNotice. From November 5-10 these gamers streamed Call of Duty: Black Ops III via twitch around the clock. Viewers were encouraged to donate to the Call of Duty Endowment as they watched throughout the week and raised $451,551. Best Buy provided Gamers Club Unlocked memberships to 200 viewers who donated at least $25 to the charity.

Following the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III Activision has paired with quick service restaurant chain Carl’s Jr./ Hardee’s for a special promotion that will help fund their charitable work. In-game players can get their hands on a hamburger themed “Take Out” weapon personalization pack. In restaurants people were able to support the Call of Duty Endowment by purchasing the “Ultimate Care Package” combo meal that featured a peel-and-win game piece sweepstakes. On Veterans Day the proceeds received from the “Ultimate Care Packages” are going to the Endowment.

With all of these partnerships and philanthropic efforts Activision Blizzard is earning a lot of money for the Call of Duty Endowment. Unemployment among veterans is unfortunately high yet with the help of charities like Activision’s Call of Duty Endowment that can begin to change. The major fundraising events for the Call of Duty Endowment may be coming to a close this Veterans Day but those interested in supporting the charity can still donate here.
