Stunlock Studios has shared a V Rising dev diary in which they go into the future of the vampire survival game. Future V Rising update plans include a brand new biome, potentially exciting new castle and servant features, and plenty of new combat options.

What does this V Rising dev diary tell us?

Last month, Stunlock confirmed that V Rising had crossed 2.5 million sales, promising more updates to come. Now, it looks like we might have an idea of what some of those updates could look like. We're not sure which of these features will be saved for V Rising 1.0 and which ones will be present in the Early Access period, though, and it's worth remembering that some of these features might not even make it into the game.

In a new V Rising dev diary, Stunlock says it's experimenting with some fun new features like multi-story castles and expanded servant functionality, although the studio doesn't know when those features will be implemented. Stunlock also says it's looking into introducing a "brand new biome", and existing biomes will be improved "in terms of visuals, sound, and gameplay" as well.

Improvements are coming to V Rising's biomes in the future, and new ones are also on the way.

The devs say they're looking into ways to fill older areas with new and more engaging content, and as part of that, there's also work underway to improve PvE and PvP combat variation. This work is manifesting itself in the form of new weapons and skills; game director Peter Ilves already revealed the existence of the new Greatsword in an interview with YouTuber Asmongold, but there's more to come, apparently.

Work is also underway to improve the enemy variety, as well as pacing and balance improvements. All this and more is coming, and if that wasn't enough, Stunlock also teases the arrival of the vampire to end all vampires, Dracula, in V Rising at some point in the future. He'll be headed to Vardoran, but we don't know what form he'll take just yet. Perhaps he's already there! It's well worth taking a look at the full dev diary to see everything that's coming to V Rising, as it's clear Stunlock still has plenty in store for its vampiric child.

What is V Rising?

V Rising is a vampire survival game in which you play a newly-blooded vampire who must establish a place for themselves in a cutthroat and (literally) bloodthirsty world. You'll construct your very own castle, explore the world around you for resources, and come into contact with other players, choosing whether you want to trust them or not.

V Rising is all about building your very own vampiric demesne.

You can pick up V Rising on Steam right now, where it's currently in Early Access. The game is consistently being updated with new content and features, so if you do like it, be aware that there's much more to come in the future. Just getting started in the world of V Rising?
