An anime sushi chef in Tokyo Cooking

There are plenty of cozy cooking sims out there, but very few, if any, of them allow you to run your own anime sushi restaurant. Thankfully, there's Tokyo Cooking, a new game heading to Switch next week.

In Tokyo Cooking, your goal is to run the sushi restaurant of your dreams. You'll prepare food for customers, chat to them about their day, and decorate your restaurant however you like.

If you enjoyed the restaurant management minigame in Dave the Diver (and statistics suggest that you may well have done) but wished it was a little less hectic and a little more anime, then Tokyo Cooking looks like it might be for you.

Tokyo Cooking looks like a bit of light-hearted fun.

Each meal you cook will have its own to-do list based on your customers' requirements, and you'll have to cook them to perfection if you want to earn the approval of your customer base.

Building the meal is one thing, but perfecting it is quite another. Tokyo Cooking will include a couple of minigames designed to help you add that extra something to your meals and make sure you go above and beyond for your diners.

Once you've closed up in the evening, you can sit back and take stock of your day, looking around your restaurant to see what kind of things you could add for decoration.

Tokyo Cooking looks like the ideal game for anyone who wants to reject the hustle and bustle of high-octane triple-A games and kick back in a chilled-out restaurant setting instead. You can check out the trailer for Tokyo Cooking right here.

Not only will you be able to season and spice your dishes to perfection, but doing so may also help you to attract unique customers to your restaurant. If you cook well enough, they might even end up as regulars.

Tokyo Cooking launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on May 17th. You can add it to your Switch wishlist here ahead of its launch.
