If you've ever wanted to play the Settlers-style city-builder Pioneers of Pagonia co-op with your friends, then the game's newest update is perfect for you.
The latest Pioneers of Pagonia update, which is live now, adds a co-op multiplayer mode for up to four players, which allows you and your buddies to play a single faction together.
Team members can place buildings, create paths, and send commands within that faction at any time, making this mode ideal if you've ever wanted to collaborate with your friends to create the perfect city.
If you want to start up a multiplayer game, you can set your game to "open for friends", allowing your friends to join your game whenever they like (assuming they also own Pioneers of Pagonia, of course).
Alternatively, you can generate a game ID and share it with others, which means that people who aren't on your Steam friends list can join your game as well.
Any player can save the game at any time, and any player can continue the game whenever they like, so make sure that you and your friends reach an agreement about when you're going to play.
It's well worth giving the full Pioneers of Pagonia co-op update announcement a read on Steam, since it contains more info about exactly how the multiplayer mode works. If you're planning to hop into a game with your friends, make sure to check the post out first so you're well-prepared.
If you're unfamiliar with Pioneers of Pagonia, it's a city-builder created by Settlers head honcho Volker Wertich.
Encapsulating Wertich's philosophy of "Wuselfaktor", which roughly translates to "hustle and bustle factor", Pioneers of Pagonia features gameplay reminiscent of the classic Settlers series, albeit augmented by the addition of fantasy elements like mythical creatures.
Pioneers of Pagonia launched on PC via Early Access back in December. It quickly gained popularity among city-builder fans, racking up 100,000 sales within its first week on release.
You can check out Pioneers of Pagonia right now via Steam. Stay tuned for more.
