Warner Bros and Netherrealm have released a first look at Mortal Kombat 1's upcoming Homelander DLC, showing how The Boys' sadistic supe will play in the fighting game.

Admittedly, the trailer doesn't give too much away; we don't know exactly when Homelander will arrive, for instance, and we don't get to see him land any combos on his opponent Liu Kang.

We do, however, get to see two of what will presumably be Homelander's Fatality moves: one in which he burns a hole in his opponent's skull with his heat vision, and another in which The Boys' iconic aeroplane makes an appearance.

He's gonna wipe Outworld off the map. Just for fun.

When Homelander does arrive, he'll join Invincible's Omni-Man and the titular character from Peacemaker as DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 1, as well as series stalwarts Ermac and Quan Chi.

Unlike Omni-Man and Peacemaker, however, Homelander won't be voiced by the actor who plays him in his show; while J.K. Simmons voices Omni-Man and John Cena lends his voice to Peacemaker, Antony Starr won't play The Boys' psychopathic villain.

It's not entirely clear why Starr won't be voicing Homelander, especially given that he's said he was "open" to the idea of doing so. Either way, someone else will be providing Homelander's voice, but it sounds like they're hewing pretty close to Starr's interpretation of the character.

Don't worry, though; if you do want to see Antony Starr as Homelander again, you won't have too long to wait.

Over the weekend, the trailer for the fourth season of The Boys, in which Starr appears as Homelander, was released, and it features the sinister supe "consolidating his power" while Butcher tries to claw his way back from his mistakes.

You can get a look at what's coming to The Boys via the Season Four trailer right here.

Mortal Kombat 1, meanwhile, is available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. No release date has been given for Homelander yet, so watch this space for more.
