NetherRealm and Warner Bros have announced the release date for Mortal Kombat series mainstay Ermac in Mortal Kombat 1, and you won't have much longer to wait before you can play as him.

Ermac, who made his first appearance all the way back in 1995's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (although rumors existed about him prior to that game's launch), will arrive in Mortal Kombat 1 on April 23rd.

If you purchased Mortal Kombat 1's Kombat Pack, however, or if you bought the premium edition of the game, you'll be able to enjoy Ermac one week early, starting from April 16th.

Ermac is heading to Mortal Kombat 1 very soon.

Alongside the release date announcement, the first gameplay trailer for Ermac also debuted today, and if you're an Ermac main of old (like me), you'll almost certainly appreciate how he looks in Mortal Kombat 1.

His floaty combat style looks like it's made the transition to the latest game intact, and his wraith-like appearance is on point as well.

We get to see him face off against General Shao, Kung Lao, and Reptile in the trailer, and we also get a glimpse of one of Ermac's Fatalities, in which he summons spectral warriors to do something very horrible indeed to his enemy.

You can check out Ermac's debut Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer right here.

As well as a first look at Ermac, we also get to see new Kameo Fighter Mavado in action in the trailer. He's arriving sometime in May, although we don't have an exact release date yet.

Ermac is the latest DLC character to arrive in Mortal Kombat 1. He's part of the game's Kombat Pack, which also includes previous DLC fighters like John Cena's PeacemakerThe Boys' Homelander, and Invincible's Omni-Man.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available right now for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch (although reports suggest you probably shouldn't buy it on Nintendo's machine). Stay tuned for more.
