Piranha Bytes and THQ Nordic have announced the Elex 2 release date for March 1, 2022. The sequel to the original Elex has Jax trying to unite the free peoples of the science-fantasy world of Magalan against a new threat: the Skyanides, who better have some sick air power with a name like that. You can't name your people Sky something or other and expect everyone else to wonder if they are an air power or not.
Elex 2 was sorta kinda announced four years ago, two years before Piranha Bytes was acquired by THQ Nordic. It was then officially announced a few months ago, which means that Elex 2 has had about four years of cooking in the oven. That means it should be good, right? We'll have to see.
Along with the Elex II release date comes along with an Elex 2 Collector's Edition announcement that comes with a 9.2 inch Alb Figurine, the soundtrack, the artbook, and a 2 inch "Cleric Amulet" key chain. There's also a steelbook, and a concept album by Björn Pankratz called Cassandra. The special edition will ring players $149.99.

As a sequel, you'd expect Elex II to takes place after Jax beat the Hybrid in the first game, and you'd be right. Several years after the events of the first game the interestingly-named Skyanides show up and start being jerks. This leads to Jax having to do the thing all over again to try and save his family and his homeworld from this new threat.
