A third season of Cthulhu: Death May Die is coming to Kickstarter. CMON Entertainment has officially announced brand new content and support will be coming soon to their eldritch horror board game experience. The 2019 original game, designed by board game icons Eric M. Lang and Rob Daviau, was released with different "episode boxes" which contained different scenarios for players to confront as well as different Lovecraftian gods. But because of the nature of the game, this means that new scenarios would also mean new game pieces and miniatures would have to be produced.

What we know about Cthulhu: Death May Die season 3

The official announcement for the third season of Cthulhu: Death May Die was by a video on CMON's YouTube channel. In the video, CMON's Helena Dutt-Ross confirmed that the next season of the board game, titled Fear of the Unknown, would be coming out. Dutt-Ross even mentioned that fans have been awaiting this season ever since she joined the company in 2019. Fear of the Unknown will not only contain new chapters and scenarios, but new gameplay mechanics as well. In addition, this newest season of Cthulhu: Death May Die is a standalone sequel, you can back this project and play it completely out of the box.

Furthermore, there is a playable demo of this new Cthulhu: Death May Die content. If you are attending this year's Essen Spiel convention, you can stop by CMON's booth and get a sneak peek at the newest content from Fear of the Unknown and play alongside the producers of the game.

As for when the Kickstarter for Cthulhu: Death May Die will go live, Rutt-Ross wasn't entirely forthcoming. She simply stated that it would go live very soon. There are no further details at time of writing regarding backer tiers, prices, or attempts to address shipping concerns.
