Update 11/05 12:12PM - Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol have been officially announced as a double pack for Switch and other platforms. The games will set you back $14.99 and you can wishlist them right here on the eShop. Kotaku has confirmed the games will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and GOG, and Limited Run Games will also be running a physical version. Original story follows below.

Original story: If you're big on SNES-era nostalgia, then you're in luck. Two LucasArts SNES classics, Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol, are headed to Nintendo Switch next month. They'll be available as a double pack from the eShop.

What do we know about Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol on Switch?

This news comes to us via Nintendo Everything, which cites an eShop listing as its source (although the listing itself isn't publicly available to view). Although Disney Interactive is handling publishing duties, the project also has the involvement of perennial retro favorites Dotemu. The two games will come bundled with new content including art galleries, a new save anywhere feature, and more. Nintendo Everything has also uploaded a trailer to its YouTube channel that you can check out.

According to the eShop listing spotted by Nintendo Everything, the games will feature a new Save Anywhere function whereby you can save your progress no matter where you find yourself in either game. You'll also have access to an interview with a developer on Zombies, as well as game art, concept art, and marketing assets. Both games' soundtracks will be available to listen to in their entirety, and they'll also feature in-game achievements so you can track your progress.

It's a good time for retro gaming on Switch

This announcement comes as retro roguelite shooter Demons Ate My Neighbors! is gearing up for a September release. Clearly inspired by these two LucasArts classics, Demons is a modern take on the top-down run-and-gun genre, complete with "neighbors from hell", squirt guns, a VHS-style horror aesthetic, and plenty more. Zombies and Ghouls' June release window is the perfect time to get caught up on them before Demons launches.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol will be available to buy via the Nintendo Switch eShop starting from June 29th. There's no official listing for them yet, so you can't add them to your wishlist, but it likely won't be long until Nintendo unleashes these classics so you can start getting your fire extinguishers and water guns ready.
