Along with news from the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct there's a lot to talk about, so let's get into that, shall we?

What's in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass?

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass comes with a bunch of goodies. These are:

Releasing by 30th April 2023

  • New outfits

Releasing by 31st December 2023

  • Brand new story scenario

While this isn't the most in-depth description ever, it should be enough for Xenoblade fans to plop down $29.99 for the DLC.

As for the game itself, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will have a core cast of six characters: three from Keeves and three from Agnus that are commissioned to take part in a special mission. Initially, they are enemies on opposing sides, but later they discover that they have to defeat the real threat and put their hatred of each other aside.

The two protagonists of the game are Noah, an off-seer from Keeves, and Mio, an off-seer from Agnus. They each bring two friends who can be interlinked with. Once done, they fuse into a temporary form called the Ouroboros, which has special abilities. Depending on which character is chosen as the dominant mind of the pair, the abilities will change, so be sure to choose correctly.

The familiar RPG trinity of tank (Defenders), healer (Healers), and damage dealers (Attackers) is alive and well in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Of those categories, there are classes such as the Swordfighter, a well-balanced attacker class, the Zephyr, a Defender who can evade and counter-attacks, and the Tactician, a Healer that disrupts enemies and supports allies using paper talismans. While you're fighting there's also the Arts, which are special abilities that can be used to create combos. There's also Fusion Arts, which will allow players to combine two different Arts together into one attack.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition will eventually be made available exclusively through the My Nintendo store. It will include package artwork from Masatsugu Saito, a more than 250-page hardcover art book, and a steel case. It's not available for purchase just yet, so be sure to keep an eye out if you're interested.
