Have you ever wanted to watch Randy Orton wrestle a literal tank? Unfortunately, you can't do that unless you write the fanfic yourself, but here's the next best thing. World of Tanks has just received a new update which brings a number of WWE-themed tanks, crews, and other wrestling-related stuff to the game. It's live right now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

WWE-themed tanks? What's going on, World of Tanks?

As part of the new content season for World of Tanks on console, nicknamed Season 1: SummerSlam, Wargaming is introducing 5 new tanks themed around legendary WWE Superstars. You'll be able to command tanks based on currently-active Superstars The Undertaker and Becky Lynch, as well as Hall of Famers Andre the Giant and Sgt. Slaughter. The final WWE Superstar tank is themed around Stone Cold Steve Austin, and that one's free for all players (presumably instead of costing $3.16).

The SummerSlam season also gives you the chance to experience a new WWE-themed redesigned tank garage. It comes complete with Superstar introductions for vehicles, unique visuals for each Premium Collector Tank, and two sets of crew chests. These chests will contain the aforementioned Superstars and Legends, with more on the way in August in the form of Roman Reigns, Macho Man Randy Savage, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels. Lest you think Wargaming is done with new content this season, think again: Update 5.0 will also introduce cross-play between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players with increased matchmaking speeds across all tiers, so you can form an unstoppable tag team across platforms.

The commander mode in World of Tanks
Commander Mode adds a new (well, returning) RTS spin to World of Tanks.

In addition to all this new content, World of Tanks on console will see the return of Commander Mode, which puts an RTS-style spin on World of Tanks' gameplay. One player selects the role of the Commander, while the other controls the Tankers. The former has more traditional RTS gameplay, while the latter will play just like World of Tanks normally does. Wargaming says this mode will allow players to "get a different angle on the intense tank fighting and tactics". World of Tanks is available to download right now via the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. No word yet on whether PC players will also be getting this content. We'll bring you more as we get it.

You can join in the fun here!
