Temtem Season 3 Kicks Off With New Challenge Modes And More

It's time for a new Temtem season, and this one's got brand new challenges to tackle in case you thought the base game wasn't tough enough.

Temtem Season 3 is officially underway, bringing with it new challenges, a new currency, and a limited-time event where you can unlock lots of exclusive rewards. Of course, there are also tons and tons of balance changes, with community balance helpers advising the devs on what to fix and tweak.

First up, there are three brand new challenge modes on offer if you want to take your Temtem experience to the next level. These modes use a separate save slot and run on a different server, so you won't be endangering your Temtems or your currency by playing them. You can also tackle them co-op, if you like, although you can only have one Challenge active at any time.

The Nuzlocke mode, as you might expect, restricts you to catching the first two Temtem you see on each route (one if you're in co-op), and if any of your creatures faint in battle, they'll be released. You also can't breed Tems. Randomlocke, meanwhile, randomizes Temtems, Techniques, items, NPCs, and wild encounters, while keeping species, evolutionary lines, Traits, and Gears the same.

Temtem Season 3 brings a new event, new challenge modes, and lots more to the creature-collecting RPG.

The final new challenge mode, Speedrun, is pretty self-explanatory. The goal is to clear Temtem as fast as you can. There are timers for sections, each island, and overall game time, and you'll be able to see them at all times. Loading times don't count, and Temtem will skip everything that can be skipped, but you'll still need to optimize your playstyle to beat this one as quickly as you can.

A new area, Nanto Labs, is open, and you can head there to get the new Luma Drops currency. This will let you buy things like Dyes, the TemCardX, and lots of other previously un-purchasable items. Crema says it will continue to add items to the Luma Drop shop (Luma lee, Luma bop) in future updates, so keep an eye out for those.

A new Season of Temtem is starting today, too. Clash of Tamers brings "fierce clothes, mounts covering the eras, and a lot of friendly rivalry", according to Crema. If competition isn't your bag, you can also look forward to the Leprechaun's Eve event, which runs from today until April 2nd and offers the chance to get all kinds of exclusive rewards. You can check out the full Temtem update 1.3 patch notes here (be warned, though: they're pretty long).
