We finally have new information on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady's latest DC Universe title has been talked about constantly throughout its development. Everything from reported leaks that the game would be a live service to the fact that it will feature the last performance of Batman by the late Kevin Conroy. But the speculation is now over, courtesy of the latest Sony State of Play.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League State of Play Showcase

According to Rocksteady's part of the presentation, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will take place in the Arkhamverse, several years after the events of Batman Arkham Knight. The presentation then showed off a level of the game with the Suicide Squad dealing with a Brainiac-infected Flash and trying to rescue Lex Luthor from the world-conquering alien invader.

The core gameplay switches between multiple members of the Squad, with Harley Quinn swinging through the air, Captain Boomerang teleporting around and blowing tanks, Deadshot flying on a jetpack, and King Shark acting like a human (Sharkman?) bulldozer.

The presentation for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League continues with Rocksteady talking about the game's development. The main idea behind the game was taking the core appeal of the Arkham games but from the perspective of the villains. The presentation is also peppered with quick appearances of the Arkhamverse Justice League, including Wonder Woman and the John Stewart Green Lantern. There are appearances by other DC characters like Penguin, Hack, Toyman, and Gizmo. They serve as the Squad's intel and tech specialists.

It also appears the leaks about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being a live service was true. There will be a focus on Gear Levels, a power level dictated by what kind of armor or weapons you wield. There will also be unique weapons based on other DC characters like Bane. This is similar in structure to other live service titles such as Destiny 2 or Marvel's Avengers. The game will also feature a 4-player co-op, allowing players to take on challenges together. Finally, they have confirmed the existence of post-story content, and a battle pass containing cosmetic extras.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available May 26 2023.
