Starship Troopers: Extermination is a just-announced sci-fi co-op FPS title from Offworld Industries, who are known for their work in Squad, a hardcore FPS. In the latest Starship Troopers title, you'll take on the spacefaring ways of a Depp Space Vanguard Trooper who's trying to reclaim planets from the Arachnid menace. It won't be just 3 or 4 of you either--12 of you will be sent off to fight hundreds of bugs and reclaim Federation planets. After all, the only good Bug is a dead Bug, eh?

To accomplish your mission, you'll be able to choose from 3 classes: Assault, Support, and Defense. From those 3 classes you'll hopefully find one that best suits your playstyle while you're defending your base, completing objectives, gathering resources, and killing all the Bugs you can find. To defend your base, you'll be constructing walls, building towers and ammo stations, and more by using resources acquired from planetside refineries.

They're doing their part.

While playing through the game, you'll be unlocking new weapons, equipment, and perks for each class through the in-game progression system. To do so, you'll be mowing down Drone, Warrior, Gunner, Plasma Grenadier, and Tiger Elite enemy Bugs during each level. Each level will be a large map with five unique zones with hundreds of Bugs on screen, with bigger and badder bugs making an appearance during the more hectic battles.

To recapture planets, you'll be retaking bases and refineries while also destroying hives and completing side objectives. As you do this, you'll be retaking the map from the Bugs, which is kinda the point of it all. To aid you in this endeavor, there's a Ping system that will give you and other players a way to quickly call out points of interests and objectives, enemies, and more.

If this sounds like something you're interested in, be sure to wishlist the game on Steam ahead of its 2023 release. Hopefully, we'll also get a console announcement soon, and if we do, let's hope it has crossplay support like Aliens: Fireteam Elite.
