Sonic these days seems to be spending more time appearing in other games than in his own, so it only makes sense that he is in one of the hottest games of 2020, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. That's right, soon you will be able to get a Fall Guys Sonic outfit.
When Does Fall Guys Sonic Release?
Fall Guys Sonic will be coming really soon - this week in fact. Sonic will be drop dashing down into the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout marketplace on October 15th, for a cost of 10 crowns. If you haven't been following Fall Guys, you earn crowns by winning games, and you also earn a number as you play by leveling up your fame meter, with the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Season 2 pass having 21 crowns up to offer for players.
Sonic will fit in with the highly colored Fall Guys beans that are all around, and he will have some company from fellow video game characters. Previously available video game characters are: Alyx (From Half-Life) on Steam, Bulletkin (from Enter the Gungeon), Chell (from Portal), My Friend Pedro (from My Friend Pedro), Gato Roboto (from Gato Roboto), Gris (from Gris), Scout (from Team Fortress), Gordon Freeman (from Half-life), and Jacket (from Hotline Miami).
Sonic is the highest profile of these (sorry Gordon Freeman/Alyx fans, but they lack the cultural and cross-media notability of Sonic) and marks also a sign how well things are going for developer Mediatonic that they got one of the most iconic video game characters in their game.

The out fit will mark the slowest Sonic has likely gone in a game, as even in titles like Sonic 3D Blast where the frame rate sucked he was canonically going very fast. That said, Sonic's speed has been brought to question in recent years by his performance at the olympics, where he manages to stay equal with Mario and a variety of other Mushroom Kingdom alumni. Additionally, he has been racing in cars, although it is possible that Sonic is doing that as a handicap for himself.
Or perhaps, we should just accept that Sonic here is a costume worn just in time for halloween and you can stumble about as your favorite blue hedgehog, if he were to put on a hundred pounds or so.
