The SnowRunner Creator Rewards Program has been announced as a new way for mod-makers to get tangible rewards for creating new content for this off-road game. And by "rewards," I mean "cold, hard cash."
The program was announced on the game's official forums. A total of ten winners are going to be announced based on certain defined metrics for SnowRunner mods, and each of them will receive a cash prize depending on the category they've won. The first ten winners have already been announced.
"Everyone at Saber, Focus Home Interactive, and mod.io have been blown away by the skill and creativity shown by modders which has given the community so much to enjoy," said the game's Community Manager. "In the first 30 days since the game launched, over 250 mods have been released and downloaded over 1,000,000 times!"
What are the SnowRunner Creator Rewards Program Payouts?
Rewards in this program will be distributed into two categories: the "Top Mod Creators" and the "Rising Star Creators". Here are the details:
Top Mod Creators
- Top Mod Creators must have the most subscriptions across all mods submitted in the last 3 months.
- The mods must be active and working with the latest version of the game.
- Mods must have a weighted rating above 50% on mod.io
- Qualifying Top Mod Creators will receive €400
Rising Star Creators
- Rising Star Creators must have the most new subscriptions in the last 30 days across all mods submitted in the last 3 months
- The mods must be active and working with the latest version of the game.
- Mods must have a weighted rating above 50% on mod.io
- Qualifying Rising Star Creators will receive €170
These won't be one-off rewards, either — the SnowRunner Creator Rewards Program is going to be a monthly thing, at least for the near future. If it proves to be successful, the devs will keep it going for as long as it makes sense. Best of all, modders don't have to do anything to sign up for it — they'll automatically receive the prizes if they qualify.
Of course, there's a bunch of fine print in the announcement that you should be aware of if you're going to be modding with the hopes of scoring a sweet cash prize.
