Deimos is captured by Sam Fisher in Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft is paving the way for the announcement of the content and features coming in Rainbow Six: Siege's Year 9 with a rather sizable reveal, the identity of Deimos.

The antagonist who was at the center of Year 8 finally meets his match in a new cinematic trailer.

A second video, this time animated, is basically the sequel of the cinematic trailer, with the ongoing investigation bringing up a Flashback in which the identity of Deimos is finally revealed. If you consider this a spoiler and would rather watch it before I tell you, you can skip to the videos and not read under the following image.

The real identity of Deimos in Rainbow Six Siege

Deimos is actually a known face that veteran fans of the franchise will remember. He's former Rainbow Six operator Gerald Morris, who appeared in Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.

Not only do we get to find out his identity as he's held for interrogation, but we see how he parted ways with his former colleagues. As you may imagine, it was not an amicable farewell.

You can check out the cinematic trailer below.

Here's the animated trailer, providing a look into Deimos' past, albeit his motivations remain obscure.

The full reveal of the next season, titled "Operation Deadly Omen," will happen tomorrow, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. CET, which translates to 9:30 a.m. PST, 12:30 p.m. EST, and 5:30 p.m. GMT, depending on where you live.

The full reveal of Rainbow Six Siege's Year 9 and its content will follow the day after, on February 25 at 10:00 a.m. PST, 1:00 p.m. EST, 6:00 p.m. GMT, or 7:00 p.m. CET. If previous years are an indication, we'll hear about new features, a general list of content for every season, on top of the nationalities of the new operators.

Rainbow Six Siege is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. If you're interested, you can check out the reveal of the previous season, Operation Deep Freeze, and its operator, Tubarão
