An enterprising Reddit user has datamined Pokemon Go for details on the upcoming Remote Raid feature. This feature will allow you to take part in raid events even if you're not actually located near one. Never one to disappoint, martycochrane has found details on this feature plus more besides.
According to martycochrane's datamine, the Pokemon Go Remote Raid feature will be introduced via a special Remote Raid Pass. This pass will be separate from the existing Battle Pass and you'll be able to buy it in the shop. Pokemon Go will tell you if you're too far away from a raid event to use a regular pass, and you'll be limited on the amount of Remote Raid Passes you can have at any one time.
Participating in a Remote Raid will result in less damage from your team, which is presumably an incentive for people to still get out and exercise. Friends can invite one another to Remote Raids, and there will be a limit to how many people can participate in a Remote Raid at any given time. Again, this is presumably to incentivize players to take part in outdoor raids.
There's more besides Remote Raid details in the datamine. It looks like Niantic is working on new features for your Buddy Pokemon. You can send them out exploring and they'll bring back Gifts for you, which you can then pass on to your friends. It's also looking like Abra is making a return to Pokemon Go on April 25th. Part of martycochrane's datamine includes a message mentioning "the Investigating Illusions bonus Special Research for Abra Community Day on April 25th". There's also going to be a GO Battle Day focused on Marill, which is good news for fans of the cute lil' bunny-mouse thing.
If you want to check out the full datamine, you can do so right here. It contains plenty of extra information beyond the highlights, so make sure to give it a look if you're a Pokemon Go aficionado. You can download the game right now for Android and iOS.
