There are currently "no plans" for The Medium DLC according to the game's developers. Additionally, Bloober Team has addressed some confusion surrounding a post-credits scene featuring Thomas; that is also not a teaser for any DLC.

The Medium is a game that tells the tale of a woman caught between the spiritual world and the real world. This is represented in-game by showing the two worlds on the screen at the same time — an action in the real world can affect the spirit world and vice versa. Throughout the game, players will encounter all sorts of spooky goodness. It's certainly proved to be popular, but Bloober Team has stated that there aren't yet any plans for DLC just yet.

Why Are There No Plans for The Medium DLC?

A Bloober Team Producer and Lead Designer have both stated that there aren't yet any plans for The Medium DLC in a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit's /r/games subreddit, although there's always a chance that could change.

"At the moment, we do not have plans for a DLC. The post-credit scene intends to complete Thomas's thread, not to tease a DLC," said Bloober Team Producer Jacek Zięba.

"At the moment, we do not have any plans for a DLC, but life taught me to 'never say never[,]'" Bloober Team Lead Designer Wojciech Piejko said in response to a separate question.

This might be disappointing to some players who have enjoyed the game, especially since it does a pretty good job of establishing a new universe filled with scary and intriguing creatures. That said, Bloober Team's Producer has left the door open for future content nonetheless.

"Who knows what [the] future will bring," Zięba answered in response to a question about expanding the world and lore. "We haven't announced our future plans, and the marketing department makes sure we keep our mouths shut, but seeing such a positive response to The Medium surely makes us consider that."

The creation of DLC is often included in the development plans for a game from the beginning and it's not unusual for a game to launch with no DLC plans. It is, however, also not unusual for a game with no plans for DLC to make it anyway if the main game has been a success.

A report on Polish business site Money (via Game Rant) states that it's already recouped its development and marketing costs, so it looks like we might one day get some DLC for the game — and maybe a sequel, too. You can buy The Medium for PC and Xbox via its official website starting at $49.99 or your regional equivalent.
