An Inscryption console release is finally coming, with the Australian Rating Board leaking the game's PS4 release. While it's just the PS4 release for now, a wider Inscryption console release announcement should be coming fairly soon. The PS4 Inscryption console release received an 'M' rating due to "Supernatural themes, violence and coarse language", which seems a decent enough summary of the game.

The Inscryption console release comes off the heels of the massive success the game has already enjoyed on PC. Right now on Steam, it has a 97% 'Overwhelmingly Positive' score with over 67 thousand reviews. If that's not enough, it has sold over 1 million copies, which is an absolutely insane number for what basically amounts to a spooky card game with a meta story. I mean, the game is great and all, but if you were to say before this game's release that it would be an indie million-copy selling megahit, I wouldn't believe you. Guess that shows how much I know, eh?

Sit back down
Inscryption's scares are matched by its good gameplay.

Inscryption was also the game of the year for both the Game Developers Choice Awards and the IGF Awards, the first game to win both prizes. The reason that it won (at least according to themselves) is that Inscryption "consistently surprises the player", which seems about right to me. Horror is incredibly difficult to maintain over the course of a movie, and to do so over the course of 12 hours is very impressive. It's easy to do a jumpscare and make someone jump, but good horror unnerves people and makes them think long after the game/movie/experience has ended.

Anyways, Inscryption only received a rating yesterday, so we'll most likely receive a full announcement for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch very soon. Inscryption is still receiving patches, so stay tuned to TechRaptor for more information on Inscryption's console release or other roguelite deck builders that catch our attention.
