If this year's collection of E3 alternatives is any indication, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X will be machines built on cyberpunk. During Sony's Future of Gaming event, one of the many adventures in a neon-drenched future involved playing as a cat. In a world full of sentient robots of many different designs, you're a stray cat observing it all. Fittingly, the game is called Stray.

The developer describe Stray as the adventure of a cat "lost, alone, and separated from family." It must untangle a mystery in a "long-forgotten city" full of droids. Part of the mystery is why the city is full of robots and not humans, but they're not all against you. Your little stray makes friends with a small flying drone named B12 that can help you scope out unreachable areas and get clues.
Your cat will interact with the world just like any cat would. Stealth through alleys, nimbly leap across rooftops, play with silly distractions, and annoy the robots wandering the streets. Looking at the available visuals, it seems like a strongly realized world that you'll get to take in from a unique perspective. If you want to see even more, the game developer's Twitter feed is full of early behind the scenes looks at the adventure.
