Today Blizzard has released update 1.1.0a for Diablo IV, and it's an extensive one, launched ahead of the debut of Season 1, the "Season of the Malignant."
Among the headline features are the fact that Altars of Lilith and Fog of War discovery are now account-wide, as teased in the developer livestream a few days ago.
You can log into your most-played characters and their progress on that front will be absorbed by your account as a whole and be transferred to all of your characters, present and future. This will come in handy when you create a brand-new character for Season 1.
The update also adds six unique items and seven legendary aspects, on top of making relevant changes to Vulnerable Damage and Critical Strike Damage.
You can find the full patch notes on the official site while you wait for the release of Season 1, which will happen on July 20. The new season comes with a completely new storyline and a new mechanic in the form of Malignant Hearts, that can be slotted in your equipment instead of gems and are rather powerful.
Diablo IV is now available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Of course, you can read our full review of the game, in which our Austin Suther mentioned that Diablo IV "delivers exciting and accessible ARPG gameplay, a stunning world and engaging narrative to experience, and so many activities to keep you hooked for hours on end."
