Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Ghost

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 has been revealed and it's arriving tomorrow. What's more, it features the return of a beloved old friend.

Check out the trailer for Season 2 to get a taste of what's coming:

We've been having our fun with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for a little over three months now, and the devs are keen to release the next stage of content. One of the biggest highlights is Ghost, a fan-favorite character from the original Modern Warfare trilogy that went off to live on a farm with your childhood dog.

Let's break down what's coming in Season 2!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Rust

What's Coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2

A whole bunch of new content is on the way for new and returning players, including new maps, new guns, and more. Here's the breakdown!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Multiplayer Maps

The classic map Rust is coming back! This small map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will provide intense, close-quarters battles. This map returns on launch day for standard multiplayer and gunfight,

Rust will also be joined by the brand-new Atlas Superstore, a big box store that's packed full of great savings and deadly opponents. This map will be debuting for standard multiplayer.

Zhokov Boneyard also arrives on launch day for Ground War. This junkyard is littered with airplane parts, adding all sorts of interesting cover and ambush points.

The final launch day map will be Bazaar, a section of the streets of Urzikstan. The symmetrical layout makes for perfectly-balanced gameplay and a chance to flex your skills with all of Gunfight's many available weapons.

That's not all, though: one more map is mentioned. Something called the "Khandor Hideout" is coming mid-season for standard multiplayer, although we don't have more details just yet.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 New and Returning Game Modes

Launch day will see two game modes make an appearance. The first will be Gunfight Tournaments, a 32-team elimination bracket for this 2v2 firefight mode. The best players can win some pretty sweet prizes!

Also coming on launch day is the Call of Duty League Ruleset Playlist. This uses professional-grade settings to put you on the same playing field as the esports pros; you can read the full settings list if you'd like.

Demolition arrives mid-season. This is a lot like Search and Destroy. Two teams have to either attack or defend bomb sites. Be careful, though — it's always tricky trying to work around bombs!

Infected Ground War brings some asymmetrical zombie gameplay to Modern Warfare multiplayer. This is basically just the Infected game mode on a much larger scale.

Finally, NVG Reinforce blends elements of Domination with Search & Destroy. As the name suggests, there will also be night vision goggles.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Battle Pass

Ghost Returns in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Battle Pass

A new season also means a new battle pass! The free content will include the opportunity to earn up to 300 Call of Duty points, calling cards, weapon charms, and more in the free tiers.

Over 100 tiers of content will be available to players who buy the Season 2 Battle Pass. Tier 0 will unlock the classic CoD character Ghost and a new Operator Mission. You'll also have the chance to earn the following:

  • Weapon blueprints
  • XP tokens
  • Operator skins and challenges
  • Watches
  • Up to 1,300 Call of Duty points

Also available is the Battle Pass Bundle which will give you the first 20 Tiers gratis.

That's far from all the new content that's coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 — be sure to check out the Activision Blog post for all the fine details!
