I've seen my fair share of physical bonus items for games over the years, but the recently-revealed Square Enix mask really takes the cake. Believe it or not, you can get a branded Square Enix mask from the developer of Final Fantasy 7 Remake by ordering physical goods from its online store.

The mask was recently highlighted on ResetEra thanks to an e-mail that was sent out to customers of the store. That prompted us to take a look at the company's store and, wouldn't you know it, there it is:

As the above image notes, Square Enix members can get a free Square Enix mask by spending $100 or more on a physical order. The mask itself is emblazoned with a "Square Enix Members" logo on the front and appears to be made out of some kind of black velvet-like material.

I have several questions. Aside from wondering who might have come up with this idea, it's unclear what level of protection the maks provides or just a stylish piece of fashion. It's possible that this is one of those masks which has a slot for reusable filters, but it's difficult to tell just by looking.

There doesn't appear to be any distinct store page for the mask, either, so we can't go and look up the product description. For now, we've reached out to Square Enix for comment.

How Do I Get a Square Enix Mask?

If you want to get one of these face masks for yourself, it seems like a pretty simple affair. You'll have to head on over to the Square Enix store and make a purchase of physical items totaling $100 or more.

That's pretty much it, but there are a few caveats. This offer for a free face mask only lasts until May 25, 2020, at 11:59 Pacific (that's May 26, 2020, at 2:59 AM) and it's only valid while supplies last. Additionally, pre-orders and digital items don't count to the $100 mark.

Questionable store bonuses aside, don't forget that Square Enix is also raising money for charity with a once-in-a-lifetime game bundle featuring 54 games. I'm not so sure about this mask deal, but that game bundle is definitely worth the price.
