Today, Overhype Studios, the developer and publisher for Battle Brothers, announced a new DLC its title: Blazing Deserts.
The DLC will focus on expanding the Battle Brothers world by adding "burning deserts and lush jungles to the south". Once the player journeys to these new lands, they'll find a culture that is loosely inspired by the Arabian and Persian cultures of the medieval era, which is built on top of the Ancient Empire in the world of Battle Brothers. There will be new lore, a new political system, equipment not seen anywhere else in the world, and fresh contracts will be found within Blazing Deserts. A new late-game crisis, new legendary locations, and rewards, and a couple of new beasts will also be included in the DLC that is said to be the biggest one yet for the title.
To expand on this a little, the player will be able to customize their company via permanent boons throughout the campaign. There will be new origins to pick for the player's company, new banners, weapons, armors, and helmets inspired by the Persian and Arabian cultures, new environments on both the world map and during tactical combat, new crafting recipes for owners of the Beasts & Rewards DLC, and several new musical tracks from Breakdown Epiphanies. There will also be lots of improvements, quality of life and balancing changes, as well as other minor content additions to the overall game.
If you're interested in the DLC, be sure to check out the Steam post and forum, as the first developer blog will be released next week.
Blazing Deserts will released in Q2 of this year, with a release date and final feature list closer to this summer.
