The PlayStation Plus lineup for April has been revealed, and if you're a subscriber, then there's plenty heading your way that should keep you occupied for a while to come.

Indie darlings, major AAA productions, and smaller curios rub shoulders in the PlayStation Plus April 2024 lineup, and there's even a day one release to get stuck into if you're a Metroidvania fan.

Let's get started and take a look at the PlayStation Plus April 2024 lineup in all its glory.

PlayStation Plus April 2024 - Essential games

Immortals of Aveum is one of April's PlayStation Plus games.

First, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers are, as usual, getting three games this month. Two are playable on either PS5 or PS4, while one can only be played on PS5. Here they are!

All three of these games were added on April 2nd, so you can enjoy them right now if you're a PlayStation Plus member. Make sure to add them to your list so you don't miss out when they're gone!

PlayStation Plus April 2024 - Extra and Premium games

Extra and Premium subscribers have a lot more games to look forward to this month. Remember that if you're subscribed to Extra or Premium, you can also claim the games in the Essential tier.

All of these games were added on April 16th, with one exception, which we've marked below. Do note as well that the games marked "PS4" can also be played on PS5 via backwards compatibility. Here we go!

  • Dave the Diver (PS5, PS4)
  • Oddballers (PS4)
  • Construction Simulator (PS5, PS4)
  • The Crew 2 (PS4)
  • Raji: An Ancient Epic (PS5, PS4)
  • Lego Ninjago Movie Videogame (PS4)
  • Nour: Play With Your Food (PS5, PS4)
  • Deliver Us Mars (PS5, PS4)
  • Lego Marvel's Avengers (PS4)
  • Miasma Chronicles (PS5)
  • Stray Blade (PS5)
  • Tales of Kenzera: Zau - April 23rd (PS5)

As well as the above games, Sony has also officially announced that "combat-free Metroidvania" Animal Well will launch as a day one PS Plus game. It's not launching until May, though, so we haven't included it here.

Premium subscribers get the following three games in addition to the titles outlined above.

  • Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare (PS5, PS4 - original PS1 version)
  • Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire (PS5, PS4 - original PS1 version)
  • MediEvil (PS5, PS4 - original PS1 version)

Let's take a look at some of the highlights on the PlayStation Plus list this month. There are some great games to check out!

Dave the Diver (PS5, PS4)

Dave the Diver is a real treat for fans of genre-hopping.

First and foremost, the PlayStation Plus game that's arguably most worth checking out in April 2024 is none other than Mintrocket's Dave the Diver.

This genre-hopping experiment packs in all kinds of game styles; it's an underwater explore-'em-up, a restaurant management sim, and much more all rolled into one.

It's also got a charming cast of characters to meet, so if you're looking for something that's both relaxing and exciting, Dave the Diver is one to take a look at this April.

Immortals of Aveum (PS5)

Former Immortals of Aveum developers have supposedly been rather candid when it comes to the game's flaws, but PlayStation Plus feels like it might be the perfect home for the magic shooter.

If you're a fan of games like Amid Evil, then you might well get a kick out of this one; it's a shooter that replaces bullets with magic spells, and with several magic schools available, there's bound to be one that levitates your boat.

Our very own Tyler awarded Immortals of Aveum a 7 out of 10 in his review, and hey, if you're a PS Plus subscriber, it won't cost you anything extra to check it out!

Tales of Kenzera: Zau - April 23rd (PS5)

The player leaping between stone walls in Tales of Kenzera: Zau, a PlayStation Plus April 2024 game
Tales of Kenzera: Zau brings yet more Metroidvania goodness to PlayStation Plus this month.

Fans of Metroidvania platformers would do well to keep an eye on Tales of Kenzera: Zau, a platformer created under the EA Originals label.

Inspired by the myths and legends of the Bantu peoples of Africa, Tales of Kenzera: Zau follows the titular Zau, a shaman who must gather three offerings to the God of Death in order to bring his father back to life.

Assassin's Creed Origins voice actor Abubakar Salim serves as the game's director, so if it turns out to be a success, that's another string he can add to his multitalented bow.

That's all we've got for the PlayStation Plus April 2024 lineup! Stay tuned for May's list, where we'll get to see what goodies await PS Plus subscribers in the weeks to come.
