The Wolf Among Us 2 isn't dead, at least according to developer Telltale. The studio has released new screenshots of the game's current development build and has confirmed that work on the project "continues".
In a post on the official Telltale forums, the studio says its lack of recent news about The Wolf Among Us 2 is the result of the developers having their "heads down, focusing on the promise" of the game.
Telltale says it can't provide a bigger update on the state of The Wolf Among Us 2 yet, but it has released four characteristically moody-looking screenshots, and...well, they sure do look like The Wolf Among Us. Here's the first of them, which depicts a moody, snowy cityscape at night.
Here's the second, which shows a conversation between two characters.
The third shows protagonist Bigby looking angry, which certainly sounds like something you'd expect from The Wolf Among Us 2.
Finally, we get to see Bigby examining a crime scene. This one looks like it's representative of what you'll actually see while you're playing The Wolf Among Us 2.
Telltale concludes its post by reassuring fans that "the Fabletown gang will be back", thanking them for their continued loyalty.
Sadly, the post doesn't contain any kind of new release date or even a new release window for The Wolf Among Us 2, but it's nice to know that the game hasn't been forgotten about, at the very least.
The Wolf Among Us 2 was originally announced all the way back in late 2019. A trailer teasing the game followed in 2022, but in March last year, The Wolf Among Us 2 was delayed beyond 2023 and no new release date or window was announced for it.
Given that Telltale says no big announcement is forthcoming, it could be a while before we hear from The Wolf Among Us 2 again. Stay tuned for more.
