Each month, PlayStation Plus subscribers get to check out some games as part of their subscription, with more games becoming available at higher tiers. May 2024 is no different, so if you're looking for something to play on your PS5 or PS4, you're spoilt for choice once again.
Whether you're an Essential subscriber, an Extra lover, or a Premium fan, PlayStation Plus is bringing some goodies for you this month, so here's everything that's been confirmed as part of the PlayStation Plus May 2024 lineup.
PlayStation Plus May 2024 - Essential games
PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers are getting four games as part of their haul in May 2024. As ever, some of these games will be available on both PS5 and PS4, while some will only be playable if you've got a PS5.
All four of these games will become playable on May 7th, so make sure you're ready to download them if you're looking to give any of them a shot. Here they are!
- EA Sports FC 24 (PS5, PS4)
- Ghostrunner 2 (PS5)
- Tunic (PS5, PS4)
- Destiny 2: Lightfall (PS5, PS4)
Naturally, you're going to need the base Destiny 2 game if you want to play Lightfall, but you can grab that and play it for free on both PS5 and PS4.
PlayStation Plus May 2024 - Extra and Premium games
Extra and Premium subscribers usually get the biggest haul of games when it comes to PlayStation Plus, although it's worth noting that you'll get the aforementioned four games as part of your subscription as well if you're signed up to Extra or Premium.
Here's everything that's currently been confirmed for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in May 2024. Everything here will be available on May 21st, except for Animal Well, which is available to check out right now!

If you're a Premium subscriber, you'll also get the following three Classics, all of which are original PlayStation games.

- Worms Pinball (PS5, PS4)

Animal Well - May 9th (PS5)
Animal Well is a lo-fi Metroidvania that features a massive world to explore, and what's more, it's absolutely stuffed to the gills with secrets.
Puzzles in Animal Well aren't just confined to the game space; they may also require extra steps in the real world to solve, so come prepared with a notepad and a pen.
If you love games like Fez and Tunic, and you also love being left to your own devices to figure things out for yourself, Animal Well is definitely for you. Check out our review to learn more.
Red Dead Redemption 2 - May 21st (PS4)
May is giving PlayStation Plus subscribers another chance to immerse themselves in the dying days of the Wild West with Rockstar's magnum opus Red Dead Redemption 2.
You play as Arthur Morgan, a member of Dutch Van der Linde's gang, and over the course of the game's epic, sweeping story, you'll deal with other outlaw gangs, rifts within your own organization, and law enforcement.
Sadly, Red Dead Redemption 2 still hasn't received any kind of performance update on PS5, but the game is perfectly playable on current-gen consoles thanks to backwards compatibility.
