Prepare to spread death and decay all over the battlefield, as Professor Putricide and his undead minions are heading to Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 3.
Battlegrounds Season 3 is almost here, and with it comes a slew of new items to obtain, cards to play, and of course, one maniacal scientist that forces his creations to do his bidding. There will be 32 new minions coming with the latest season, including 16 undead and 11 dual-type minions to utilize in battle. The most intriguing thing being resurrected in season three is of course the Professor, who now comes with a brand new hero ability. Players will be able to use his "Build an Undead" ability, which allows you to create a maximum of three customized Undead minions to use throughout the battle.
Once season 2 ends, the new Season 3 Battle Track, Battle For Silvermoon, will be available for players to begin collecting rewards as they progress the board. The track includes Scourge-themed and Silvermoon-themed cosmetic items for players to collect, as well as 15 additional hero skins including Bonethresher Sneed. Luckily, if you haven't logged in for a while and forgot to claim the Season 2 rewards you earned, they will be automatically claimed once the new season begins.
Not all of the tea has been spilled in regards to what else we can expect from Season 3, but the developers say they will be sharing more on whats to come over the next few days. Here is a quick rundown of the timeline for what will arrive:
- Jan. 10 – 11:00 a.m. PT – Undead Minions Card Reveals
- Jan. 10 – 12:00 p.m. PT – New Hero Deep Dive
- Jan. 11 – 10:00 a.m. PT – Dual Type Minions Card Reveals
- Jan. 11 – 11:00 a.m. PT – Other Minion Card Reveals
- Jan. 11 – 12:00 p.m. PT – BG Balance Changes and Dev Interview
- Jan. 14 – 10:00 a.m. PT – Dev Interview
There will also be a Professor Putricide preview event on January 12, 2023, starting at 9 am PT, where players will compete with the opposing teams fighting for the title of "Plague Perfected”.
