Many people around the world will be saying one word: finally! YouTube now officially supports 60fps playback on videos. Before, higher fps counts were used on special occasions, like for big budget movie trailers. Now though, uploading in 60fps is available to every YouTube user. YouTube has now upgraded to 60fps YouTube. Note: this only works on Chrome for now, though some users have said it works on Internet Explorer 11.

Here is a video of Mario Kart 8 that shows off the stunning 60fps:

60fps YouTube is much better than the past YouTube if you ask me.

60fps is only available when viewing either 720p or 1080p. As you can see in the video above, people around the world, gamers especially, should be ecstatic that they can get a better idea of what a game will look like when they play it. Many people now look to YouTube for games they are interested in and now Youtube in 60fps will allow a more accurate look at the game.

Before, particularly in fast paced games such as Mario Kart 8, videos would fragment and get blurry. But as you can now see, that is no longer an issue.

Back in June, YouTube promised to put in support for 60fps and now it finally seems to be here. Also worthy of note in that tweet is that YouTube also plans on adding in support for 48fps as well - though there still is no word on that yet.

What do you think of the change? Can you see a big difference in the video quality? Does it look different than what you saw before?
