Toshiba has announced a new 2 in 1 laptop/tablet, with special features for windows 10, including a dedicated Cortana button. For those curious enough to read past the first sentence, the Satellite Click 10, an all-new, ultra-compact 2-in-1 PC is the PC I'm writing about.
This detachable device comes with a 10.1-inch full HD display and exclusive features that give Windows 10 shiny bells and whistles on hardware, all for $349.99The bulk of the features are in the bells and whistles, and the hardware specs, which, for some reason, PR calls "features."
It has a 10.1-inch diagonal 1900 x 1200 resolution TruBrite multi-touch display that supports Full HD 1080p content. People can also choose between 32GB or 64GB flash storage, for their device. The laptop has 2GB of ram that is not upgradable. The Detachable tablet measures 0.36 inches thin and weighs just 1.2 pounds; the device weighs just 2.2 pounds with the full-size keyboard attached.
As for power and engines, it's powered by the Intel Atom x5 processor with 64-bit processing. this is the new Cherry Trail based version that brings better graphics For the chatterboxes in the house, it features multi-directional TruTalk microphones and it also has a high-resolution 8MP rear camera and 2MP front webcam for video chatting and taking photos. For storage on the device, in terms of external storage, it has micro HDMI port, micro SD slot and two USB 2.0 ports and, wait for it, it has HDMI support as well!
The tablet is equipped with a Micro HDMI® port for sharing the display with a large-screen HDTV or external display. People can pre order this tablet at certain retailers that were not mentioned in the press release. What was included, however, is the fact that people can order it on Toshiba's website for $349.99.
Quick Take
It's been quite a while since Toshiba has released a tablet so I wonder how this will be useful to the back to school crowd. I wonder how games will work on it. My guess is that this was designed for school, and not really gaming. I also wonder why there's a Cortana button. I thought that you could just call her name and she would answer you? Maybe I'm giving her way too much credit. I'd like to see this laptop in action. Because, I've seen cases where specs didn’t hold when put to the test. I admit, I haven't used many Toshiba laptops, so feel free to just laugh at this quick take and toss me a cookie.
