HP has what could be termed a "silent sale" on several laptop models. No, there is no huge promotion going on and the savings are only on a few select models, but the discounts are quite strong: the biggest being a huge $200 discount on the new HP Pavilion 15t Power Laptop.
Indeed, the 15.6-inch HP 15t gaming-capable "Power Laptop" is hitting a historic low price point after $200 in instant savings this week. With a list price of $850, HP was trying to squeeze in an "affordable" gaming laptop option into their lineup - but with a deal at $650 - the machine is now squarely in our recommended "budget" gaming laptop pick. As it stands, there are few laptop choices with a Quad Core 7th generation processor and a discrete GeForce GTX 10 Series video card under the $700 mark.
Another Power Laptop hitting a solid price is the bigger 17-inch Pavilion 17t. A slightly lesser $150 price break has graced its presence, which at $730 still prices it a far away from the original $880. Specs are identical to the 15t Power Laptop with the 17t sporting a slightly larger 17.3-inch display. So if you prefer a desktop replacement gaming laptop - the 17t may be a better pick.

Also on tap is an HP Pavilion laptop with a higher-end Core i7 processor and touchscreen combo for only $620. Unlike the Power Laptops above, this isn't exactly a gaming capable rig as it comes with a Dual-Core ULV processor and there's the distinct lack of discrete graphics, but as a productivity laptop the price is great for a touchscreen laptop with the latest 7th generation Core i7 CPU.
Finally, if you want an ultra-cheap but "good enough" laptop, the Pavilion 15z is only $360 this week and comes with an AMD Core A9 processor along with 8GB of RAM. The laptop certainly won't win any performance awards - but for budget-minded laptop shoppers, it'll handle word processing and web browsing just fine.
