With Android 4.4 Kit Kat rolling out nicely and with the active voice search gaining popularity, the 'OK, Google' saying is growing. Google is helping this out by releasing the official Google Voice Search Hotword (Beta) on the Chrome Web Store.

This extension will download and on any searchable page you can just say "OK, Google" and it will open the familiar Voice Search that we know and love off of ours Android phones.

This feature seems like it's silly, but with the emergence of the convertible tablets this makes Google Chrome even more useful. It works just as well as it does on a phone. This works if your webpage is directed to google.com, but I have also got it to work using the OmniSearch bar on top of a new tab. That's what is the cool part, you do not need to go to a special page for it to work.

Seeing that this is a beta extension, there is sure many more things to come. I'm guessing that this will be a precursor to us receiving Google Now as our main page for Chrome. Everything right there at your fingertips on your computer as well. We will have to wait and see until we can OK Google all of the things!
