If you're a member of the technology industry, you usually can't go a day without hearing about "Cloud". For those of us that know what that actually means, we're used to the concept now - and know how to handle people referencing it. There are a lot of misconceptions about the "Cloud", namely that many think it's an actual platform for technology. In reality, the Cloud is an idea - a use of technology in a certain way...and no, it's not really in the clouds.

At TechWeek Chicago this year, we had the opportunity to sit down with Alex Brown from 10th Magnitude, a leading cloud-based solutions provider. Our talk with Alex was aimed at clearing up some of the misconceptions for our readers, as well as getting insight from him on where the industry is headed, the changes in Microsoft's Azure, and the technology industry in general.

The concept of the Cloud is a quickly growing implementation in the tech industry. In the last few years, more companies are switching to cloud-based and hosted solutions in order to protect their data and reduce downtime. This has led to companies, such as 10th Magnitude, leading the charge in offering those services to a variety of clients and companies. With services such as Office 365, Dropbox, Amazon S3/EC2, and more, this change in the industry is here to stay.

Thanks again to Alex for talking with us, and stay tuned to our site for more TechWeek Chicago coverage!
