Ah, November, we can always tell your approach by the cooling weather and the beginning of price drops and giveaways. Google is now stepping up to the plate, by offering 6 months free of Google Music if you buy the Google Nexus 6 before December 31st, 2014. You do have to use it more or less immediately as if not redeemed the code will expire by the end of January 2015.

Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la!

Google Music Coming to Nexus 6 for Free

Google Music has a large collection of on demand music you’ll be able to play and listen to without paying for or other issues. You can also store 20,000 of your own tracks on the Google cloud saving your Nexus’ 6 space for other things. It normally costs $9.99 a month for unlimited Google Music so it is a nice stocking stuffer that comes with your Nexus 6.

The Nexus 6 is scheduled to go on pre-orders today – in fact there was a mistake where it went live for about 2 minutes earlier on when they announced the new promotion about Google Music. It is expected that the Nexus will ship out in November and be able to be bought than via deals with phone companies all over.

Google Nexus 6 Specs

A quick look at the specs for the Nexus 6 looks suitably impressive:

  • 5.96-inch, QHD (1440×2560) display
  • Snapdragon 805 processing (quad-core 2.7GHz) with Adreno 420 graphics
  • 13MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras
  • 3,220mAh battery

The Nexus 6 will come with Motorola’s turbo charge technology, allowing it to charge 6 hours of battery life after only 15 minutes on the charger in all models. Its display is an inch larger than last year’s Nexus 5 showing part of an ongoing trend for larger phone screens that encroach on tablet territory more and more.

The Nexus 6 with 32GB will be sold for $650, and with 64GB will go up to $700 though one imagines relatively few will be sold that way. Most will be bought in combination with carriers and contracts that provide a break on the cost of getting a new phone. Add a reasonable plan that’s on special, get a good deal and get music for 6 months free and you could be having a lot of fun with your Nexus 6.
