As Games Workshop expands its IPs further and further (recently we've had 40K Magic the Gathering cards and soon we're getting Warhammer stamps), one company has been producing Warhammer 40K action figures. JoyToy currently offers a huge range of 1/18th scale Warhammer 40K figures for a variety of factions, and in this article, we'll take a look at 3 of the brand-new Chaos Space Marines of the Crimson Slaughter.

Who Are the Crimson Slaughter?

The Crimson Slaughter were loyalist Space Marines but made renegade after reports of mass slaughter. They were then cursed to hear the voices of the slain, which only abated when they were causing further slaughter. They fled into the Eye of Terror where the warp has twisted them into what they are today.

What Are JoyToy Action Figures?

JoyToy action figures are a range of action figures for different IPs. Currently, they produce for Warhammer 40K, Infinity, and their own IPs Frontline Chaos and Dark Source. Most of their figures stand at around 5 to 6 inches, varying depending on the scale, feature incredible detail and intricate components and each action figure is fully posable.

How Easy Is It To Replace Parts and Pose JoyToy Chaos Space Marines Crimson Slaughter Action Figures?

Almost all of the movable parts of all JoyToy figures involve a ball and socket. This is how the hands and heads are with the Chaos Space Marines Crimson Slaughter, which allows them to be moved and posed. All of the weapons for the figures need a little force into the hands to ensure they're gripped properly, but the slightly rubbery nature of the material makes this easy enough, so don't be scared by the initial resistance when trying to put weapons into grips.

All of the Crimson Slaughter figures come with a few weapon options for different poses and armaments.

Posing the figures is easy enough and the solid nature of the Crimson Slaughter allows them to balance well, it's advisable to fit the weapons and align them before finding the balance with the leg position.

What Are Our Final Thoughts On The JoyToy Chaos Space Marines Crimson Slaughter Action Figures?

I love the 3 Crimson Slaughter marines. Their jet packs give them a great profile and all of the skulls really pop against the red armor, especially those on Brother Maganar's shoulder. The dark red works really well against the black which then makes the other detail stand out, like the blue of Karvult's plasma gun and the eye in Gotor's axe. The grenades that can be attached or carried are a great touch, as is Gotor's knife which adds a great dual-wield option to his armament.

Should I Buy The JoyToy Chaos Space Marines Crimson Slaughter Action Figures?

If you're a fan of the Crimson Slaughter, then you're lucky that JoyToy has chosen them for early release. They could have gone with some of the bigger named Chaos Space Marine factions but went with this lesser-known Chapter. They've done a great job of capturing the melee-focused jet pack assault unit and the melee weapon options look fantastic. I hope we'll get more Crimson Slaughter, but it might be a while once they start moving through the other famous Chapters.
