Those familiar with tabletop gaming and TTRPGs are most likely aware of World of Darkness. The long-running urban horror series has gone through multiple shapes and forms over the years and thanks to publisher Paradox Interactive, many officially licensed games have come out for it. These include well-received living card games like Vampire The Masquerade: Rivals, bespoke crowdfunding successes like FLYOS' own Werewolf: The Apocalypse Retaliation, and the ongoing success that is Vampire: The Masquerade Fifth Edition. Now, it seems Paradox Interactive's franchise will be getting a push into a more digital direction thanks to a deal struck with tabletop developer Xplored.

This announcement came from via a press release (thanks, Wargamer). It states that Paradox Interactive has signed a multi-game World of Darkness partnership with Xplored, with their first project titled Vampire: The Masquerade - Milan Uprising. But what makes Xplored stand out from other tabletop developers in the business has been their sophisticated digital board, Teburu. The central appeal of this game board/console hybrid being the rules, pieces, and scenarios being handled by the computer and the players can just play. it has gotten its share of attention thanks to some interesting projects being announced for it.

As for what this partnership means for Xplored going forward, CEO Davide Garofalo was honored that Paradox gave them to chance. "They embraced our vision for the future of boardgaming, and loved our passion for the WoD, that we’ve been roleplaying for over 25 years, with the same friends and colleagues who now are working together on our first VTM game for Teburu.” Given that the world of Vampire: The Masquerade is built on interconnected vampire politics, secret agendas, and double-crosses, there is merit to be found Teburu's more immersive approach to a tabletop experience.

Either way, this means more World of Darkness projects are coming to tabletop players around the world. There is currently no set release date for these Vampire: The Masquerade - Milan Uprising.
